What is an End of Life Doula?

An End of Life Doula is a supportive guide, helping people to navigate the documentation, planning and preparation for the smoothest journey to their end of life. This service is not only for those with a terminal diagnosis but for anyone who wants to be prepared for the inevitable.

  • About Me

    While raising my family of four children I have been a ‘Jill of all trades’ running small businesses, having part time jobs and volunteering in the community, including church, schools and Scouts. Through these many and varied experiences I have developed the important skills of organisation, the ability to communicate with people from all walks of life, and compassion for others. I bring these qualities and more to my practice as a Doula.

  • My Approach

    Talking about death and dying can be an uncomfortable conversation. I am passionate about open dialogue around this topic, helping to empower individuals and/or their families to plan, prepare and create a meaningful ‘end of life’. When it comes to the end, it’s best to leave nothing unsaid. Letting your family and friends know your wishes is truly a gift to those you leave behind.

My Service Fees

  • Where we can meet and see if we are a good fit for each other.

    1/2 hour (Zoom, phone or in person)

    FREE

  • Where we get down to planning what is needed to be prepared for the inevitable. This can be as long or as short as you need. This includes completing an Advanced Care Directive and My Values.

    $50 per hour

    Recommended purchase ‘Life and Beyond’ by Lyndsay Lowe to write all the planning we do in - $20

  • When it comes to the end, family and friends can be worn out and just need someone to sit with their loved one so they can have a rest or get things done. I can be that person for you.

    $50 per hour

    Depending on distance, travel costs may apply.

  • Though not legally required, as a funeral celebrant this is something I can offer.

Lilies At Sunset has a structured approach to resolving complaints.

  1. Send Complaint - with as many details as you can

  2. Evaluation - information will be assessed and resolved in a timely manner

  3. Response - When finalised you will be advise of findings and any actions to be taken
